Eating Chocolate is Good for Health

Yup it’s true! Eating chocolate can be good for your health!!!

In a recent analysis of over 21,000 people, eating chocolate was associated with 23% reduced risk of stroke, 11% reduction in cardiovascular disease and a whopping 25% reduction in associated deaths!

The benefits started with as little as 10 chocolate chips a day and were more in persons that ate one bar!!! Also it didn’t matter if chocolate consumed was dark or milk. Benefits appear to come from the cocoa itself.

Some important caveats…

Association does not mean causation. Participants in chocolate eating group were not overweight. Chocolate is caloric and calories result in weight gain-a known contributor to heart disease, diabetes and countless other diseases.

Take home message..incorporating chocolate, milk or dark, appears to be good for your health. But calories are calories so be mindful of how much you consume. Happy eating!
