So many of us swing between restriction and overeating—we go on strict diets, deprive ourselves, then give in and feel like we’ve “failed.” This all-or-nothing cycle creates guilt, stress, and a negative relationship with food.

In Hungry for More, I explore why restriction leads to stronger cravings, emotional eating, and a loss of trust in our bodies. The key isn’t control—it’s balance and self-awareness.

Why Restriction Leads to Overeating

🚫 Deprivation Creates Intense Cravings—When we tell ourselves we "can’t" have something, we want it even more.

🥞 The Binge Effect—Over-restriction makes us more likely to overeat the foods we’ve been avoiding.

😔 Guilt and Shame—We beat ourselves up after eating "bad" foods, which leads to emotional eating.

How to Find Food Freedom

✔️ Ditch the “Good” and “Bad” Labels—All foods can fit in a balanced diet.

✔️ Eat What You Love, Mindfully—Allow treats in moderation so they don’t become "forbidden."

✔️ Listen to Your Body—Instead of eating by external rules, focus on hunger and fullness cues.

✔️ Prioritize Satisfaction—Choose foods that nourish your body and bring you joy.

Final Thoughts: Food is Meant to Be Enjoyed

When we stop the restrict-binge cycle and embrace mindful, intuitive eating, we develop a healthier, more sustainable relationship with food.

💡 Let’s start a conversation about breaking free from restrictive eating. I’d love to share this message at your next event!
